SPARESBOYZ HYUNDAI SCRAP YARD AND AUTO SPARES IN DURBAN

WHAT ARE SCRAP YARDS?

Scrap yards (also known as junkyards or salvage facilities) are places that take used, accident damaged or unwanted cars for stripping purposes. All parts that are still in good condition are salvaged, refurbished, tested and then sold on. Damaged parts and other waste are recycled.

WHAT DOES STRIPPING A CAR ENTAIL?

Firstly, all fluids (oil, fuel, coolant) have to be drained to prevent leakage whilst dismantling. The petrol tank, car battery, and all tyres are removed and set aside.

The interior parts (seats, carpets etc) are removed and evaluated – sold or recycled. All parts – down to the smallest component – are evaluated and if they are still in good condition they will be saved, repaired, refurbished and sold.

WHAT HAPPENS TO PARTS THAT ARE NOT USED?

As we are environmentally conscious and want to preserve our environment as much as we can, all damaged parts that are no longer of use, are sent for recycling as scrap metal, including the body and frame of the vehicle. Any other waste, fluids, plastic products and batteries are also recycled and some is used for landfill.

All oils and liquids that were drained during disassembly can also be used for another car, recycled or sold.

There is absolutely no waste whatsoever during this process. It is beneficial for everyone and environmentally friendly.
