ARE YOU NEEDING REPLACEMENT ENGINE PARTS BLOEMFONTEIN?

Your engine is a complicated mechanism that is made up of several individual components and all of the parts need to be in good condition at all times in order to power your engine. Your engine transforms energy from fuel with a spark, to create movement and propel the car forward.

With so many components needing to work perfectly it is essential that your engine is serviced and receives proper maintenance regularly. At some stage, you will also need to replace certain engine parts. At Sparesboyz we specialise in used and new engine parts so if you are looking for a particular engine part in Bloemfontein or anywhere in SA, we will no doubt have it for you. If not, we will source it for you. Once we have the engine parts, we will overnight courier engine parts straight to your doorstep in Bloemfontein.

It is important to get to know your own engine and to understand the role of the various internal parts.

Engine block – this is the very core of the engine and houses the pistons, crankshaft, camshaft, and cylinders which provide water and oil flow paths to cool and lubricate the engine.

Pistons – these are cylindrical parts with a flat top surface and they pump up and down as the spark plugs fire and compress the air/fuel mix. They transfer energy created from combustion to the crankshaft to propel the vehicle. Piston rings  are found inside which help create compression and reduce the friction from the constant rubbing of the cylinder

Cylinder head – The cylinder head is attached to the top of the engine block through cylinder bolts in order to seal the area to prevent the loss of gases and is sealed with the head gasket. It contains many engine parts including spark plugs, valves, valve springs, lifters, pushrods, rockers and camshafts.

Crankshaft –The crankshaft is located in the lower section of the engine block and converts energy from reciprocating to rotary. It is connected to pistons via the connecting rod and it turns them up and down.

Camshaft – this engine part can either be located within the engine block or in the cylinder heads, depending on the vehicle.  Its role is to open and close the valves in perfect timing with the rest of the parts.

Valves There are intake valves and exhaust valves which regulate the flow of air, fuel and exhaust fumes inside the cylinder head.

Timing belt/chain – The camshaft and crankshafts are synchronized to ensure precise timing in order for the engine to run smoothly.

Oil pan/Oil sump – is attached to the bottom of the engine and is the reservoir for all the oil used in the lubrication of the engine.
