OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer, which simply means the car parts are manufactured by the same company that manufactures the vehicle. Simply put, they are the exact parts that are installed in your vehicle when you bought it. Aftermarket parts are produced by a different company and are often designed to be compatible with as many makes and/or models as possible. They are often a favoured choice because they are typically readily available and are often cheaper than OEM parts.
